Rensselaer Semi-Weekly Republican, Volume 22, Number 99, Rensselaer, Jasper County, 30 August 1901 — Circus Day is a Great Day [ARTICLE]
Circus Day is a Great Day
After all is said and done there is no county gala day like a big circus day, in a county seat, in a county which is not populous enough to catch the big circuses, every year. This fact was abundantly illustrated here Tueday. when people began coming in from the remotest parts of the county, before eight o’clock, that morning. Well, heaven bless the people and heaven bless the circus. And heaven pity the man or woman who is too old or too crabbed to enjoy a circus or to enjoy seeing other people enjoy it. And as for parents who can afford to let their children go to the circus and are too stingy to do so, they are people whom it were base flattery to call skin-flints.
“Sweet Auburn Waltzes” get it of the composer, Prof. B. Dentinger, or at Fendig’s Drug Store. Rosenbaum is selling the only genuine imported oigar ever sold in Rensselaer. Call for Finer de Puerto Rico.
