LEE AND EAST JASPER.
Quite a number of young people of this vicinity attended the Fountain Park Assembly last Saturday and Sunday. A large crowd gathered at the residence of Mr. E. H, Wood Tuesday of last week to assist Mrs. Wood in celebrating her sixty-third birthday. A large number of friends from Monon and relatives from and Union City, Ohio, were present besides the friends of this vicinity. An excellent dinner was served and an . enjoyable time was had. The surprise was complete as Mrs. Wood had not suspected anything of the kind. Mrs. Effie LaVigne, of Hammond, is visiting friends and relatives at this place, A. S. Peterson was hauling oats to this point last week. Geo. McCoy was in town Tuesday morning. Uncle George always seems in a good humor and has a pleasant word for every one. O. A. Jacks accompanied the four younger children of Mr. T. W. Martin to their home at Westfield 4 , last Thursday. A young man from Water Valley is in this vicinity catching frogs to supply contracts with parties in Chicago. If business is jumping enough he will probably remain for soma time
