GILLAM AND THE OIL FIELDS. Miss Grace Overman is on the sick list. Charley Fleming entertained friends from Indianapolis last Sunday. Edwin Long, of Lafayette, is the guest of John Bradbury and family. Geo. Comer, our enterprising little merchant and John Bradbury' were among the excursionists to Michigan City last Sunday. There will be a musical intertainment at the Home of Miss Flora Wilcox next Thursday evening given bv her pupils and others. Quite a number of Gillam people attended old settlers’ meeting at Wheatfield last Saturday, Two thrashing machines, and nine oil pumps make quite a commotion in .the neighborhood of Asphaltum. Mr. Geo. Wilcox, after a few days visit in Chicagp, left for Kenosha, Wis„ where he has a position in, the Simmons’ manufacturing Co. Miss Fern and Master Omar Osborne, of Rensselaer are visiting relatives in Gillam. Mrs. Eunice Freshour's recovery from her long illness is very doubtful. ‘
