Notice to Contractors. IMPROMMMENT OF FOREST AND MERRIT STREETS. NOTICE is hereby given, that at a regular meeting of the Common Council of the City of Rensselaer, Indiana, to be held at the Couii cil Chamber at 8 o’clock p. m. on the 26th Day of August 1901, sealed bids will be received for the improvement of that part of Forest Street whicn lies between the north line of Oak,Street and six feet north of the center line of "Merritt Street and that part of Merritt Street which lies between a point six feet east of the center line oi Forest Street and the west line of the street or road known as the “Gravel Road” by grading the same and the construction thereon of a macadam roadway, twelve feet in width. All of said work shaU be done in accordance with a resolution adopted by the Common Council on the 22nd day of July, 1901, and the specifications therefor on file in iny office. Bidders shall file with their bids, the receipt of the City Treasure r,for the sum of SSOO, deposited as a guarantee that such bidder, if successful, will enter into a contract in ac cordance-with his bid. Notice of Ditch Letting. ~ iii i Notice is hereby given, that, under the provisions* of section 2of the Act of March 2, 1893, amendatory of the Act of April 1, 1881, the Auditor of Jasper County, State of Indiana, will receive sealed bids for the construction or a certain open ditch in said county, numbered 9409, known a 9 Hunter Ditch, commencing Fourteen hundred feet west of the northeast corner of Section eighteen, Township twenty seven north, Range seven west, and running thence in the bed of an old ditch, in a general northerly direction to its outlet in the Eck Ditch in Section thirty-one, Township twentyeight north, Range seven west, a total distance of 14,440 feet, with 9,522 cubic yards of excavation to be made. Said bids will be opened and contract awarded to the lowest responsible bidder on Saturday, the 7th day of September, 1901, at one o’clock P. M. The person to whom the award is made will be required to immediately enter into a contract and give bond to the approval otihe Auditor, in a sum of not less than the amount of his bid, and on failure to do so the award will go to the next lowest bidder presenting satisfactory bond.
