Woman Fined For Assault and Battery.

In these days of sleepless activity in Rensselaer justice court ciroles even the women are liable to be hauled into court to answer for infractions of the law, and assaults ou the peace and dignity of the State of Indiana One such case occurred last Tuesday. Mrs. Geo. Hopkins was slued one dollar and oosts, $11.40 in all, for assault and battery upon Mrs. Wm. Frey, by Squire Troxell, The assault took place in the east part of town, but originated in some trouble at a- lodge meeting. Geo. Hopkins, husband of the defendant, was arrested on charge of provoke, also on complaint of Mrs. Fry. His oase came up at 2 o’clock this afternoon.
