We farmers would be pleased to see a rain, How about ycu city folks? Tom Zimmerman and wife were in Rensselaer last Tuesday on business. Frank Hayes and family broke bread at S. Hopkins’ Sunday. Mrs. James Torbet was the guest of Mrs. Chas. Hopkins last Tuesday. A horse belonging to George Daniels was badly cut on a barbed wire one day last week. Mfs. Griggs and grandma Frost visited Mrs. McCleary Tuesday. Roy Daniels has gone to the hay marsh to work. Four of James Torbets horses got out about ten days ago and recovered three of them over south of Rensselaer. The'other, horse has not yet bean recovered. Tom Zimmerman is driving a new well at his newly built house. Hugh Gaffey was a Chicago excursion passenger Sunday. Mr, Bluford and son Roy were Gifford visitors Sunday. It looks funny to see farmers trying to buy garden truck in tow but that is what most of them are tiyi ng" to do. Sweet corn and tomatoes are almost a total failure and potatoes are a very small crop.
