Death of Mrs. Wm. McDonald.

Mrs. Mary MoDonald, wife of Wm. MoDonald, died at 11 o’clock, p. m. Monday Ang. 12th, at her home at Pleasant Ridge. Her death wae the direct result of an accident, 14bours before. She was driving alone to her son’s, James McDonald’s, at McCoysburg, Monday morning, and got out to arrange the fly net. She started to get in the buggy again when the horse suddenly started, and she was caught in the wheel. The horse went only a few steps but by that time her right leg was very badly broken above the knee; it being a compound fracture, that is the bones protruded through the flesh. Drs. English and Berkley set the broken bone, but it was evident* that the shook was too great for her advanoed age and feeble health. It developed later, also, that she was injured internally. The horse she was driving was entirely gentle, and did not run away, but simply started ahead too soon, as horses often will. She was 75 years old and leaves a husband and 10 ohildren. The funeral was held Wednesday, at 10:30 a. m. in the Rensselaer Christian Church, by Rev. J. L. Brady. Interment was made in Weston cemetery.
