An Ugly Row at Rose Lawn.
There was a big row at Rose Lawn, last Triday night, as a result of which one man, Peter Hancock, was so badly injured that his death is expected at any time. A gun was fired during the fracas, but Hancock, was struck over the head, presumably with the gun barrel. It is said he was not engaged in the row at all. Another person, John Mellinger was hurt, but not seriously. He and Reub Gundy were arrested and gave bail. John Bovie was also arrested and is nowdn the jail here, for safe keeping. He was brought down Saturday night, and he and the officer in charge stopped at a saloon to irrigate and Bovie slipped out at the back door, and was not seen again until ho voluntarily returned Sunday morning. He denies being near when the row occured and also says the name he was arrested under is not his right out,.
