Will Dam the Kankakee River.

A dispatch from Kankakee says: Eastern capitalists have secured property rights along the Kankakee river between this city and Wilmington, and will construct seven dams for the purpose of developing power for electric roads and manufacturing concerns in eastern Illinois. The corporation will be capitalized at $1,000,000, and will use the Beardsley patent dam. It is estimated that over 15,000 horsepower can be developed, or more than enough to operate all of the constructed and proposed electric roads in eastern and central Illinois. It is possible that locks will be constructed and the long cherished hope of slag water navigation of the Kankakee river between this city and the Illinois river will be realized.
