Game Warden is Watching.
Geo. Davis, of Lowell, deputy district game warden, was nosing around here Monday, looking for violators of the game laws. He did not make any arrests this trip, but it is understood he has got his pickets out in such shape that if any of our local pot-hunters and game hogs get to killing quails and prairie chickens before the law is out, under the name of “stubble-ducks,” jack-snipes etc., that he will bring them up with a short turn. It is certainly to be hoped that he will. It would be a good thing, also if some of the fellows who kill song and insect eating birds could be given a good dose of the law, also.
