, PARR. A good rain Wednesday night brightened the spirits of the people and the prospects for a corn crop. Threshing has begun in this vicinity. Oats are averaging about 30 bushels to tlje acre although- some fields are working 40 or more. Born to Mrs. Lucretea Hall, July 15, a girl baby. Otto Steel is working for Dr. Kirk. Fred Shultz purchased a fine horse from Judv & Wood, Wednesday- ’ Jos. Conway transacted business Tuesday. Miss Nellie Kiglit of South Chicago, is visiting Miss Blanche Conway. Judge Thompson was' in this vicinity Tuesday. • Our base ball team went to Gifford last Sunday and were defeated by the oil workers by a score of 13 to 18.
