Two Supplemetary Institutes Asked For.
Some time ago The Republican published the substance of the new law providing for supplementary farmers’ institutes in every county, every year, to be held in place’s away froni the usual places of holding the regular annual county farmers’ institutes. It speaks well for the intelligence and enterprise and desire to advance, if Jasper county farmers that petitions are now pending from both ends of the county for such a supplimentary institute this year,
The farmers of the north end want an institute at Wheatfield. Those at the south end petition for one at Remington. It is not likely that more than one of these petitions will be granted. Wheatfield had in its petitions several weeks earlier than Remington, and also represents a larger scojpe of territory in the county, much of Remington’s tributary territory being in other counties. For these reasons and the further one that an institute is likely to be held close to Remington, namely at Woloott, it is thought probable that Wheatfield will be selected.
