Rensselaer Semi-Weekly Republican, Volume 22, Number 89, Rensselaer, Jasper County, 26 July 1901 — Francesville Will Vote a Tax. [ARTICLE]
Francesville Will Vote a Tax.
The people of Francesville and. Salem Tp., have seen fit to change their minds in regard to a railroad election, and have now filed a petition with the commissioners of Pulaski county, asking that snch an election be ordered. The proposition is to vote a 2 per cent; tax to the Chicago & Toledo Transfer R. R. Two other Pulaski county townships, Beaver and Indian Creek, will also vote a tax if the route of the road is changed so as to continue due east from Francesville to Pulaskiville, and then turn north to Winamac. The railroad people have signified their probable willingness to make such a change if the tax is voted. Monroe Tp., with Winamac, has already, as we have previously stated, voted a 2 per cent. tax.
