Kniman Church Contest.
The contest for the greatest popularity, for the benefit of Kniman’s new Catholic church, ended at -the church picnic and dance, last Saturday evening. The candidates were Michael Jungles, John E. Meyers and Wm. Grube Sr Votes were one cent each and Mr. Jungles won by an immense majority. He received 7560 votes representing $75.60. Mr. Meyers received 836 votes and Mr. Grube 736. The total receipts of the contest and picnic were $125.75. Mr. Jungles, as winner in the contest, received a fine cane and the privelege of naming the new church. He will probably name it St. Michael’s Church. His first name being Michael. The churoh will not be dedicated for about three weeks, the delay being occasioned by putting in new pews, which at first was not intended.
