A Pleasant Afternoon Party.
A very enjoyable afternoon was spent, by about seventy ladiee, at the residence of Mrs. A. S. Laßue* on Saturday, between the hours of four and six. The reception was given by Mrs. Will Babcock and Mrs. Laßue, in honor of a cousin of Mrs. Laßue’s, Mrs. Belle MeConnel Jones, of Louisville, and a guest of Mrs. Babcock’s, Miss Connie Leese, of Terre Haute. The rooms were decorated with the loveliest of summer blossoms, and music of the highest order, made merry the entire season, until refreshments were in order. Mrs. Delos Thompson and Mrs Eannal gave happy selections while a number of childish performances were highly appreciated. Wade and Belle Laßue, on Mandolin and Piano, and the little maid of many medals from Chicago, June Waldorf, also on the piano, played often and excellently, while the childish songs of little Margaret Babcock, were greatly enjoyed. Cocoanut taffy, newsboy lemon gems, iced Homestead cookies, lemon cream biscuit, fig-bar, chooo--1 ate creams are all fresh at Starrs
