NORTHWEST BARLEY.
The farmers are cutting oats. Rain is needed. Mrs. Hugh Gaily is very sick. Miss Junie McCleary is home after a few months stay with Sam Parkers of Valma. A number of young folks took in the excursion to Michigan Sunday. Mr. Hays is on the sick list, Miss Tippy Fletcher visited her father over Sunday. Charley Jenkins and Bill Daniels are pntting up hay. Sunday School at Blackford was well attended Sunday afternoon. Jim Baker is helping Hopkins cut oats. Mr. Hopkins is able to walk to the field. The neighbors and friends of James Torbet met Sunday and gave him a surprise it being his fiftieth birthday. The tables were spread with abundance of food. All enjoyed the day returning home at a late hour in the evening. About forty-five were present.
