No Sugar Beet Factory This Year.

Hammond News: The proposed sugar beet factory will not be built at Shelby. We are. told that the machinery which had been shipped there is being removed and that for this season at least Shelby will get no sugar beet factory. This is a sad blow at Shelby and means much to the south end of the county, as it was thought the beet culture would prove a great industry down there. Hundreds of aores of beets were put out on contract to sell to this factory and what will now be done we did not learn.
