The Mule Got Tired of Walking.
It is to be hoped that of the disastrous series of runaway accidents recently enacted is not to be repeated in this vicinity, but some four or five have occurred within the past week and while none have resulted seriously, the danger has been quite marked in several of them. Aus Moore, for instance, narrowly escaped a bad accident while driving to town from his place some miles east Tuesday He was driving a team hitched to a buggy and leading a team of inul6B behind. When near Pleasant Ridge, one of the mules conceived the idea of riding in the buggy instead of trailing behind. It was almost successful in making the buggy mount, and before Aus oould realize what was up, the mule was up, and had climbed on the buggy top and struck Aus with his fore feet. At this j uncture the buggy was overturned and Aus thrown to the ground. He released the mules but held fast to the horses and the latter though badly frightened were brought to a standstill before they had run more than twenty yards. The top was torn from the buggy and Aus received severe bruises on his right arm and left side.
