The City Council

T. J. Sayler Sl Co. got the contract for macadamizing the one block on Van Rensselaer street, from Washington to Cornelia, at $4.85 per lineal foot, including the cement curbing. A large number of interesting property owners ask that Makemself ditch be made a covered sewer. Referred to committee. Dr. I. M. Washburn, secretary city board of health, recommends that the hitch racks on Harrison street be removed, on account of the health of the neighborhosd Referred to city attorney for legal advice. Ou remonstrance from Miss Cordelia Mopnett, the only property owner affected, the order for a sidewalk on Milroy street, towards St. Joseph’s College, was rescinded. The Rensselaer Feed & Fuel Co. was give contract for hauling coal from cars to waterworks at 20 cents per ton. The city engineer was ordered to prepare plans for repairing Washington street, from the bridge to Cullen street. The marshal was directed to see that restaurant men and other ice cream dealers keep their tnbe off the sidewalk.
