MT. AYR AND WEST JASPER

Harvest is at hand in this vicinity. B. G. Wolley suffered a stroke of heat on Tuesday, but is better at present. Mt. Ayr Cornet Band went to Morocco on the 4th with a good crowd from this place, Jas. Yeoman was laboring hard to induce a crowd from this place to attend the temperance exercises at Rensselaer on July 4th ; Randolph Wright of Newton Tp , was on our streets Wednesday as jovial as ever. Roe Yeoman cirulates qnite frequently with our folks. Welcome Roe. Prof. E. E. Hufty was united in marriage with Miss Pearl Pendergrass of near Kentland on Wednesday June 26, 1901. Mr. Hufty still retains the principalship of our school. His wife also has a room in same. Our base ball team suffered defeat on Thursday last by a Rensselaer team, and not satisfied went to Morocco on Sunday and was beaten again. Will say nothing about the score in either game. Boys remember, you must persevere if you will succeed.
