Much Improvement in Our Band.

The public band concert last night was attended by more than usual large number of people and the music dispensed by Rensselaer’s recently reorganized band was of an increased excellence. In the terms of one of the band members, “there was more music at that concert than at any ever given by a Rensselaer band in previous years.” Prof. Schath is a highly cultured musioian, the slightest discord is at onoe detected by him and he has devoted himself industriously to improving each player’s ability individually. The result is a marked general improvement. The concert next Thursday night will take place in front of the court house. In addition to the several pieces the band is booked for, will be two cornet solos by Taylor McCoy, who has been receiving cornet instruction at the Orchard Lake Military Academy. These band conoerts should attract visitors from every nearby town. They are worth driving a long distance to hear.
