Obituary.
Andrew Arnold was born in Peble county, Ohio, April 18th, 1823. Died at Rensselaer, Ind., June 9th, 1901, aged 78 years, 1 month, 21 days. He married Miss Lydia Flora, July 12. 1843, and lived with her in wedlock for over 57 years. Her death occured in January of this present year. Twelve children were born to hem of whom seven are now living namely Henry and John in Wabash county; Charles, Chris and Elias, and Mrs. J. C. Frazee, in Barkley tp., and Mrs. Lora Pence, in Keener tp. Mr. Arnold and family moved from Ohio to Wabash county, this state, in 1863; and after 20 years’ residence there moved to Jasper county in 1883; remaining here until his death. He was raised in the Dunkard or German Baptist religion, and was an active and faithful member of that church for over 50 years. He was a man of the most kindly and gentle disposition and of the purest morality and the strictest business rectitude. He was a very careful and intelligent farmer and a capable man of business, and as a result of those quali ties left quite a large estate in farms and other property. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon, June 11th, at the Dunkard church, in Barkley tp., after the plain, simple rules prescribed by the church. The services were conducted •by Elders Abraham Miller and E. C. Miller. The funeral was very largely attended.
