Sudden Death of a Young Girl.
A thirteen year old girl of Holland birth who lived with the family of C. Evers, 2| miles south of DeMotte, died at 10 o’clock last night after only a few hours sickness. She did not complain of feeling badly until about four o’clock in the afternoon. Dr. Rice, of DeMotte, was sent for but had not yet returned home since his runaway experience at Hebron, and other aid could not be secured. The patient suffered great agony and nothing that was done for her by her kindly disposed foster parents lent any relief. At 10 o’clock she died. Dr. Rice arrived shortly afterward and pronounced death resulting from a congestive chill. The funeral was held on Thursday afternoon at the Holland church near DeMotte, and interment was made at Rose Lawn.
