Young Delos Is Athletic Boss.

The Republicin last Monday briefly mentioned the fact that Delos Coen and Rice Porter were entered in the field day contests at the Highland Park Military Academy, but we did not know at the time what athletic qualitie were wrapped up in representatives from Rensselaer. Tuesday’s papers, however, in giving the results of the events at Highland Park, show that young Coen took four firsts and young Porter two seconds in the contests. The events won- by Coen were the running broad jump, standing high jump, running high jump and the pole vault. Porter took the seconds in the first two events mentioned. In the pole vault he cleared the pole at 9 feet, 9| inches, an exceptionally good record for a youth of 18 years.
