Biddle’s Rare Old Bible.

Among the books discovered in the library of the late Judge Biddle which is at present being invoiced by attorney Rufus Magee and Dr. Asa Coleman, has been found an old Bible, printed in the sixteenth century and known as the“ Breeches Bible,” one of the rarest books in literature. It is valued at from 11,500 to $2,000. In compiling this book an error was made in a certain Verse in Genesis in which he word “breeches” . appears. The passage should have read “gathered fGeir clothes about them,” but instead the word “breeches” was used. After the books had been put in circulation the error was discovered and an effort was made to call the books in. Nearly all were recovered with the exception of about twenty, and of this number the book in the Biddle library is one.
