Good Buildings This Year.
The characteristic feature of this season’s building operations in Rensselaer is in quality rather than the number. Thue about all ths rtaideawa n<?w in progress or under con tract, arete be unusually good buildings. The Methodist pafSOnage, on Cullen street now about ready for plastering,' and is a fine residence and will cost probably $3,000, The Loughridge-Chapman residence, on Van Rensselaer street, has the foundation completed. It will probably cost $3,000 also. Dr. Berkley’s residence, on MoCoy Avenue, the excavations for which are in progress will cost still more than either of the others just mentioned. Probably not less than $4,000, and perhaps another SI,OOO on top of that. The Mieses Comer’s house, on South Cullen, work on whioh will begin very soon, will also be a fine building, costing $2,000 or more* In the way of business buildings, the Odd Fellows’ new block and the Baboock & Hopkins elevator will both be notable additions to the town.
