Douglas Was Acquitted.
Our readers will remember a bad shooting affair at Crawfordsville, last December. Charles Doyle and Frank Parish went to the residence of Joseph Douglas, supposedly to visit Mrs. Douglas, a woman of alleged bad charaoter\ She was not at home, but Douglas was and shot both men- Doyle was killed and Parish had both eyes shot out. The trial of Douglas was finished last Saturday. He presented evidence to show that the two men had gone to the house to thrash Douglas, as Parish had often threatened to do, and Douglas shot only after they had broken open the door and forced their way into the house. The jury appeared to think that Douglas was justified, and their verdict was not guilty.
