NEW MAYOR OF ST. LOUIS.

Rolla Wells, recently elected Mayor of St. Louis, the greatest inland city of the United States, was born in St. LonU In 1850 and he has resided there all his life. Mr. Wells has been president of the St. Lonls Jockey Club and St. Louis Fair Association. He is a raiser of fine horses, and likes “a quiet spin” behind a fast pair of trotters. He is surrounded by an interesting and bright family, and it is said he claims his “best partner” in all his life has been his wife, who was Miss Jennie Parker, to whom h# was married in 1878.
