New Transcontinental Line.

A special correspondent of the Chicago Chronicle, writing froih New York under date of April 14th, says: “Preparations are being made .by the Pennsylvania company to extend its lines to the Paoifio coast, making a grand transcontinental system. This was the idea in view when the stockholders voted to increase the capital stock of the company from $150,000,000 to $250,000,000. Part of the prooeeds of the sale of the stock, in addition to that from the sale of debentures, will be used to acquire control of lines in the trans-Mississippi territory.
