Rensselaer Semi-Weekly Republican, Volume 22, Number 60, Rensselaer, Jasper County, 16 April 1901 — On the Governor’s Staff. [ARTICLE]

On the Governor’s Staff.

T. J. McCoy received last Saturday morning, a letter from Gov. Durbin oonveying the very pleasant information that the Governor had appointed Mr. McCoy a member of the Governor's staff. It is a purely honorary position but is much sought after and greatly esteemed by the recipients. There is no salary attached, and the recipients have to furnish their own accoutrements and uniforms, and for which they have to go down into their jeans for about $l5O. The staff appears with the governor on ceremonial occasions, and when the state national: guard is called out.
