A Boy Saves a Train.
Milo Hughes, an eight year old boy, saved a -Monon local freight train from a bad wreck, lastThnrsday. It occured at the bridge over Kilmmre Creek, a few miles this side of Frankfort. The boy’s father lives near the bridge, and the boy was playing along the creek and found the bridge was on fire. The fire had burned so long that the bridge would not have held up a train. The boy knew it was about time for the train, and legged it down the track until he met the train, and by swinging his arms and staying on the track till he almost bumped into the engine he caused the engineer to stop; but the big engine was only a few feet from the bridge when it stopped. The bridge is 40 feet high. The boy was the hero of the train crew and passengers, and pfobably the company will reward him in a substantial way.
