Our Youngest Old Man.

The list of old people residing in Rensselaer, published some weeks ago, did not contain the name of Grandfather J. M. Gwin. The omission in one sense was a mistake, and in another not. For Mr. Gwin is plenty old enough for the list in point of years, being 83. But in point of activity, he lacks a great deal of being an old man. In fact few men of 65 are more quick and active than he is. A noteworthy fact regarding Mr. Gwin is that he belongs to a family of old time numbers. There were 13 children in the family, 8 sons and 5 daughters. Seven of the sons are still living, all men of pretty advanced ago. He is the next oldest, however, one brother, who lives in Randolph Co., being 85. Three only of his sisters are now living. The old gentleman expects to make quite an extensive trip around among these; numerous brothers and sisters some time this spring and summer.
