A Great Honor for Landis.

Selected to Deliver the Grant nemorlal Address in New York City. Hon. Charles B. Landis, of Delphi, was seleoted and will be invited by the Grant Monument and Memorial Committee at New York City Wednesday night, to make the memorial address on April 27th, (Grant’s birthday). This is a very great honor bestowed on Indiana’s greatest Congressional Representative and orator. An honor that the people of the whole state may well be proud of, and in which pride the Tenth district, which used to have him, has the greatest share, after his own district, the Ninth. His work in Congress the past 2 years, especially his oratorical effort in the Roberts polygamy case has marked him as one of America’s foremost orators and statesmau. His popularity in the East is rapidly growing and we look forward to see him reoeive a grand reception there April 27. The Committee selected him over all other great men and orators. One Senator said in the Committee room Tuesday night, that Landis was the most effective and convincing orator he had ever heard since the days of Roscoe Conkling.
