Dr. Proudly is visiting his family in Chicago. 7~’“ J Miss Maud Fry and her brother Jesse were at the county seat Monday.' C. F. Gilmore lost a good horse last Monday. Miss Ophelia McClanahan spent Sunday with her parents at Rose Bud. Harry Gault, of Rose Lawn, was ip town over Sunday. Rev. O’May preached a good sermon at the M. E. church last Sun- , -it . day morning. Several from hefe attended a turkev shooting match at Gifford last Saturday and brought home some fine birds.
Jim Cox has moved from the Kight farm onto the Mat Petty place, two and a half miles east of town. Editor Schanlaub, of the Morroca Courier, was in town Satu day. Mr. and' 1 Mrs. George Davidson are at Ancona, Ills., looking after business matters.
Mr. Holly, of Beaver City, Newton county, is making a several weeks’ visit to her mother, Mrs. John Casey. Mr. Bartholomew, the dentist from Morocco, was in town Saturday night and left Sunday morning for Chicago. J. J. Montgomery, the hustling Superintendent of the Jasper County Telephone Co., was in town last Thursday making repairs at Central office.
J. W. Crooks has sold his restaurant at Winamac and is on duty at his drug store here for a few weeks, Mrs. Crooks and children are visitinn - relatives at Bloomington, Ind. Don’t forget the supper at the school house Friday evening Feb. 22, Washington’s birthday. Everybody invited. Mr. and Mrs, W T m. Fuller, of near town and Mr, and Mrs. John Talbot, of Illinois, were the guests of Mr.
and Mrs, Win, Gilmore over Sunday. A jolly crowd of young folks went by the sleigh route to Rose Lawn Thursday evening of last week to attend a social at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. .1. Fry. The evening was pleasantly spent in games, music, refreshments and general merry-making. They returned home about 2 a. m. The coasting is fine and our young folks are taking advantage of this sport on the hill every evening but as yet. no accidents have been reported. Rev. and Mrs. Abbett left Tuesday morning for Chicago Heights to remain the rest of the winter with relatives. Mr. Abbett has been in poor health about all winter.
