From the Oil Field.

J. T- Ryan, trustee of Gillam tp„ was in town Tuesday. He lives right in the Gillam oil field. He reports some activity there now and an intention to put down many new wells as soon as the weather gete warmer. Two or three more pumping stations are also to be and more important still, an immense steel storage tank is to be erected. One of the huge affairs like those in the older oil regions and big refineries, like that at Whiting, near Hammond. Railroad construction the Gifford lines, is. of course at a stand-still, except that the ties continue to accumulate along the present and proposed lines at a very satisfactory rate.
