Rensselaer Semi-Weekly Republican, Volume 22, Number 45, Rensselaer, Jasper County, 22 February 1901 — Telephone Company Wins. [ARTICLE]
Telephone Company Wins.
Judge Palmer rendered his decision in the back tax case, of the Jasper Co. Telephone Company, vs the Board of Commissioners of Jasper Co. The decision is in favor of the telephone company, and is to the effect that county officers have no authority to assess a telephone corporation; and as the State Board of Tax Commissioners have no authority to collect back taxes, the decision is a decided victory for the telephone company.
