Mr. Fisher Stays All Winter.
People living on River and all other streets near the Iroquois river think they can .tell of a more notable case than Jud Perkins’ meadow lark on Feb. Ist. It is a kingfisher wh : ch has braved the winter and made his home along the river. The people liviag near the river have named him “Mr. Fisher” and speak of him habitually by that name. His most frequent fishing place is where there is some running water over the shallows, just bel°w where the water from the old “cool-oil” well enters the river. It is not an unheard of thing according to the bird books, for king-fishers to remain in the north all winter, but it is not a usual one either, by any means.
