“Brown from Boston,” the latest musical farce, is replete with bright, entertaining specialties. ‘ Each member of the large company is a complete entertainer in her and himself, and the bright humor, the entertaining comedy situations, with the latest of popular music, form a feast that is rarely surpassed. The principal comedy role, Caroline Runham Downe an up-to-date young woman, is enacted by Miss Dot Halcott, who wears the latest designs of the dressmaker’s art. Her jewels are worth a small fortune, as she posesses some exquisite diamonds. Miss Halcott is also a dancer of some note, and especial electrical fixtures have been built to add to the beauty of her dresses. Prominent in the company is Miss Alma Farley, whose portrayal of Mrs. Malloney. a would-be wealthy French society lady, is excruciatingly funny. Miss Flo Farley sings the latest New York popular ’ditties, and Miss Flora Shurtleff Carter’s whistling solos are without equal. She is termed the American nightingale.
