Tuesday’s Daily. Michael Lawler, of the well known firm of Lawler Bros., owners of extensive stock and land interests nearßenseelaer and Roselawn, is now under arrest in Chicago, for supposed, complicity in the death of a girl in Chicago. The girl’s name was Elizabeth Sterling. She and Lawler went to the flat of a Mrs. Harris, Friday night and remained all night. Late the following evening the girl died with symptoms cf carbolic acid poisoning. Lawler says she committed suicide, but admits that he tried to have her buried secretly, without the knowledge of her relatives. He had left the girl at the Harris place, in the forenoon, but came back in time to be with her when she died. He says he was drunk when he took her to the place, and don’t remember taking her there.
