Fish and Bird Law.

Deputv Game Warden Has a Bill' Reaay for the Legislature. This is the substance of the new fish and game law whioh will be introduced into tfie present legislature by E. E. Earle, deputy gam#warden of the State, who has drafted the bill and thinks it will ' cover the ground thoroughly. It fixes the close season for quail from January Ist to November 2nd and makes it unlawful to sell or offer for sale quail at any time-Non-residents must pay a $lO license to hunt in ludiana. Resi- \ dents of the State may hunt in the ■ counties in which they reside without a license, but hunting elsewhere they must have a lioense aud pay ' one dollar a year. Not more than twenty-four quail shall be killed by ODe person* in one day. It shall be considered prima facie evidence of illegal hunting to be seen in the fields or woods with a gun in the close season.

Seining, now permitted under restrictions, is positively forbidden at any time in any stream or lake. The Sale of native fish is absolutely prohibited and buyer aud seller alike are made liable.

The use of dynamite is made a Statutory offense and a severe penalty is provided for those using it The pollution of streams is made a criminal offense, punishable by fine and imprisonment. The possession of seines is also forbidden. All fees for licenses are to be turned into the treasury to pay the expense of enforcement of the law. The close season for squirrles, is from December 20th to June Ist and from October Ist to November Ist. Hunting with dogs and guu is prohibited in any year from October Ist to November Ist. Ducks shall not be killed from April 15th to September 15th. To kill or capture song birds at any time, except by permission in certain oases, to shoot Mongolian pheasants at any time within the next five years js unlawful.
