Big Game Preserve to Be in Lake County.

Crown Point Star. Not long since a Chicago crowd of hunters took steps toward getting land of Horace Marble, of Jasper county, for a game preserve, but have since concluded they would change to Lake county, and are now making a deal with Brown Brothers for their entire tract of about 10,000 acres. About thirty will constitute the club, and among them are Me.yor Harrison, Roll Organ, Wm. Haskell, a Mr. Dennis, and others prominent in the city. They . want it for twenty-five years, or thereabouts, with the privilege of building a club house, keeping a man constantly on the grounds to keep poachers off, and bind themselves to stock the premises with game birds that will thrive here. Also, to allow no shooting out of season, aud none on Sundays. In other words it will be a Gentleman’s Sporting Club, simply for sport and to pass the time away when they have a day off, and this means good day to the everyday pot-hunters of Lake county on that territory. The yearly rent, it is believed, will be ten cents per aore, or SI,OOO per year for their sport, which will be a clear profit to the owners, a 3 the grounds have always been made common property by sportsmen. Mr. John Brown dined with Mayor Harrison and others of the members, recently, in the oity, when the deal was nearly consummated, and likely in a few days will be a real transaction.
