Big Plans for Kankakee Drainage.

Indianapolis, Dec, 12. —Thousands of acres of the great Kankakee river lands need drainage and the attorney general plans to have the governor in his message to the legislature recommend a complete survey of the Kankakee region with a view to ascertaining the best way of draining it. The construction of an immense ditch has been suggested, but the attorney general regards such a work as a great and usdless expense. His plan is to dredge the channel of the Kankakee river in order to allow a free passage of the water which now for the greater part of the year backs up and spreads over the marsh lands.
