A Minute’s Work of the Sun.

The sun’s heat raises from the earth every minute 37,060,000,000 tons of water, or say a weight equal to six that of the Great Pryamid. Such heat could only be produced on|*earth by burning cubic miles of coal per secyfld—that is to say, a nice little block of 200 miles long, 200 miles high, and 200 miles broad, welghlug 12,000 millions of millions of tons.
