The Circuit Court.
Charles MoCully, the rather aged party from Remington who was charged with arson was tried bifca jury and acquitted. He was charged with trying to burn the Remington town hall‘by setting fire to the callaboose, which is in the same building, while incarcerated for drunkenness. August Hoops, of Rensselaer, was tried for selling liquor ou a holiday, andjined $lO and costs. Wm.Jß’ry, also of Rensselaer was tried for assault and battery and also for selling liquor to a drunken man. He was acquitted on both charges. Two courts have been running, Tuesday and Wednesday, Judge Thompson presiding over one and Jesse E. Wilson, as specialjjudge, over the other. Judge Lairy, of Logansport, has returned here, and began the trial of the Bedford vs Warner case, Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. lmes announces that she. has reduced prices on all her immense stock.
