White County Contest Ended.

The contest for the treasurer’s office in White county end|d Tuesday. When the votes were jounted after the election Mr. Stoaßon, the democratic candidate, waJjeclared elected by a majority of iSb votes Mr. Philips, the republicarfloandidate, thought the majority of*protested votes not was against him and that a proper count would give him a majority over Stock ton. Tuesday the oonnty commissioners completed the re-count which gave a net gain of two votes for Philips leaving a majority of seven votes for jfltockton. The contest will not |e carried further.
