County Superintendents On Salaries.

Through the efforts of the county superintendents of the state, a bill has been prepared and substituted to the State Fees and Salaries Commission, putting county superintendents on salaries. Tne salaries are to be based on population, but with SSOO as the lowest and SI6OO the highest. The proposed salaries for the different counties have been figured up, and are published. In Jasper county it is $960. In Newton Co. SBOO, in Benton $1,020, White $1,160. The lowest is Ohio county, which is SSOO. It is claimed that in the aggregate, the salary system will cost no more than the present per diem rate.
