Boy Kicked by a Mule.

Kay, the 10 year old son of John Renicker, of near Blackford, got quite badly kicked, Sunday night and narrowly escaped being very badly hurt. He was passing behind his father’s mules in the barn, and one of them kicked and struck him in the head. The blow was jast a little too high to strike the boy with its full force, but as it was it cut a gash two inches or more in length cutting through the scalp and the membrane covering the skull, but not injuring the skull, itself. Had it been an inch or two lower it almost certainly would have fractured the skull, The boy was rendered unconscious for a short time but soon recovered. Dr. English, who dressed the cat, thinks it will not prove at all serious.
