Had a Case of Burglary.
There was a mild case of burglary in town, Saturday night. When Stoner & Day’s mill was opened for business Monday morning, it was found that somebody had entered the mill by raising a window, and going into the office room in the corner, had sought to make a raise. They pried off a cashdrawer that was fastened on the under side of a writing counter; but nothing was missed from it except a few pennies and a pocket knife. They then tried to open the office safe, which was not locked. But thinking it was they turned the knob until they locked it. Nothing is left in the safe except the account books so they would have got nothing had they opened it. It is not known whether the mill was entered Saturday night or Sunday night.
