Dunn was granted a saloon license in DeMotte. Sylvester B. Jenkins was appointed fireman, at the court house heating station, at S3O per month. Advertisments are ordered for bids on one new bridge in Carpenter and one in Jordan. Viewers’ final reports were approved in the Comer and the Thompson ditches, and their construction ordered. The Frank Zickman road, in Newton township, was established. The contract for groceries for the poor farm, for 3 months, was awarded to John Eger for $97.94 There was a mistake about some of the bids, which needs explanation. The amount of sugar needed was 450 lbs. By a misunderstanding some of the other bids including B. Forsythe’s were on 50 lbs. His bid, when corrected for the additional amount of sugar was just one cent higher than Mr. Eger’s original bid.
