Miss Ethel Sharp of Rensselaer was the guest of Mrs, John Renicker Thursday and Friday. Mr. and Mrs. John Vanatta of Rensselaer was on our streets of Blackford Sunday. Friends and ne’ghbors to the number of 150 gathered at the hom e of Mrs. Theodore Hurley it being her 33rd birthday. All come with well filled baskets and all enjoyed a pleasant time. Steave Williams is back to work again for John Renicker since his spell of sickness. Mr. ami Mrs. Wm. Hurley of Fair Oaks were the guests of Mrs. N. J. Burgett ' hursday and Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Adam Blocher, of Rossyille aie visiting relatives around Blackford and Wheatfield. Rev. Cpffmen preached at Brushwood church Sunday. Mrs. N. J Burgett is building a fine house, Jessup of Rensselaer is doing the carpenter work. ’ John Renicker is building a house on the Popular Grove fruit farm for tenant to live in and work for him on his fruit farm. / The Dunkards held their communion meeting Thursday. They had a good attendance, there was good order also. Samuel Hopkins had a narrow’ escape last Thursday by his horse becoming frightened and running away and throwing him out and dragging him some distance. Owen Hurley while out bathing in the Kankakee river was bitten on his big toe by a snake which is quite painful and which has laid him up for some time.
